This adventure experience brings together the excitement of riding mighty elephants through the jungle, with all the safety and comfort you could want for your family. Enjoy guided elephant rides and leisurely walks through the pristine forests of northern Thailand whilst staying at lodges. We will carry your luggage for you the whole way. Delicious local and international food, hot showers, super comfortable beds with mosquito nets provided and an awe-inspiring Thai jungle experience.
Day 1: Chiang Mai to Karen Hill Tribe Lodge (L,D)
Your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Chiang Mai and then head north for 250 kms to the Karen Hill Tribe Lodge. On route through beautiful mountain scenery you will visit local Thai markets and see them selling their products. You will visit Baan Chan temple and enjoy lunch at a natural pine forest. Journey through the dense Baan Na Kled Hoi jungle for 1.5 hours, rocking with the sway of the huge mammal where you will spend the night. In the afternoon you’ll meet the elephants by the river and help bathe them. Settle into your new surroundings and enjoy dinner accompanied by a traditional performance of local dancers, dancing under a star lite sky.
Day 2: Travel by elephant to a secret waterfall (B,L,D)
After breakfast you’ll venture into the jungle for your first elephant trek. Wade along the river to a secret waterfall where you will have the opportunity to swim. A surprise picnic lunch will be waiting for you. Cross a mountain on elephant back to the Karen Elephant camp, where you can watch hill tribe women weaving and pounding rice. Enjoy sundowners and a BBQ at the camp fire.
Day 3: A lesson in tribal living (B/L/D)
You’ll have an early start this morning with a walk to the nearby preservation area to see tropical birds, Gibbon and wild animals. After breakfast, you’ll hop back on your elephant for an hour’s ride to a Karen hill tribe village on top of a hill overlooking Karen rice fields. You’ll receive an amazing welcoming ceremony from Karen hill tribe people, before returning to the lodge for lunch. This afternoon, your guide will show you how to catch fish the hill tribe way, or hunt for wild edible plants. Learn to cook the Thai way, learning about frangrant Thai herbs, before enjoying your creation for dinner.
Day 4: Hot springs, waterfalls and the highest mountain in Thailand (B/L)
After a great lodge breakfast, head to the Hot Spring in Huay Nam Dung National Park, and have lunch at a local restaurant. Continue on to Pui National Park to visit the waterfall at the highest mountain in Thailand. Swim in a crystal clear waterfall, then transfer back to the city of roses Chiang Mai or transfer to the airport for your next destination.

Recommendations to bring: Comfortable clothes, T-shirt, long and short pants, bathing suit, hiking shoes and open hiking sandals suitable for walking in jungle streams, hat, sunglasses, sun block, shampoo, toothpaste, insect repellent, torch, spare batteries.

2. Children Policy
Under 2 years old: No charge for tour & 50% airfare charge
From 2 to under 5 years old: 50% charge for tour & 75% airfare charge
From 5 to under 12 years old: 75% charge for tour & airfare
From 12 years old: 100% charge as adult
An illness, an accident or an unexpected situation can arise before or during any type of vacation. Such an event might cause you to cut short your trip or cause your trip to be cancelled altogether.
Insurance exists to protect passengers from financial loss in the event of an emergency.
We strongly recommend you buy travel insurance before travel.
4. Alteration of Itinerary
Prior to the booking, we are happy to process alterations to your itinerary free of charge. Once the deposit has been paid, alterations will attract a fee of 30AUD per request.
All cancellations will incur a fee of 100AUD per person.
No-show travellers will be charged 100% of the tour price.

The appropriate amount will automatically be debited to the credit card provided or by other payment arrangements. Failing this the booking will automatically be cancelled without notification.
Final payment is due 45 days prior to departure. Ticket/voucher will be provided on receipt of final payment.
